STAR Service Manager is an excellent app.
STAR Service Manager is an excellent app. It provides powerful, yet user friendly tools for managing service contracts. Its reporting capabilities are outstanding. I especially love how simple it is to add new items into the contract and adjust them. It has many useful modules that allow you to manage warranties, parts, discounts, recalls, etc. However, I wish the module to manage quotes was better. I'd love to see it integrate with other apps that offer quote functionality such as Apple Quote, BetterQuote, and others. In addition, its reporting is very basic. For example, the monthly statement isn't integrated with the monthly report so you have to print two separate documents. This would be helpful if the reporting module had more advanced options like conditional formatting, pivot tables, and sorting. Finally, when updating a contract, the fields are only accessible once. You cannot go back and edit any previous values.
