Review on Code Dog by Joshua Akashi
Great way for cross-functional communication between remote teams
The code dog is very helpful in keeping track of our open pull request's status, it also helps us keep up to date with all changes made by others on github as well! It does not have any downsides so far but I would like more options such as adding comments or replying directly from that notification email which can be done manually if needed.
This software has helped me stay connected with my team members who are working remotely across different timezones without having to log into slack everytime they make an update!!
Pros
- Great way for remote teams/individuals
- Helpful notifications about new updates & commits.
- Ability To reply easily within this client
- Simple interface
- Easily accessible even when you don't use GitHub frequently enough (ie., only check once per week)
Cons
- Sometimes slow loading
- Notifications sometimes take longer than expected
