Review on Starrett KTX12 12ME N Precision Measuring Instrument with Enhanced Graduation Intervals by William Mathis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you want true accuracy skip this one

Starrett has long been a dominant player in the gauge field. I've had a few mics from them and they're great. However, this roulette let me down. The metal of the hook is too thin and the rivets are too weak for accuracy. I have found that the hook slides off the edge of the tree all the time because the hook bends outwards a bit. Not only is that annoying, but it takes at least a millimeter of what you read. I have a cheap handout tape with a much better hook that is dead accurate compared to my folding ruler. I bent the hook as best I could, but I no longer trust this tape measure when assembling furniture.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
