Review on Cordiant Winter Drive 195/55 R15 85T by Ewa Wolska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The goods are normal, money is not wasted!

I travel a lot, so probably the last 7.8 years on Cordiant, before that there were all famous brands (summer, winter and all-weather). From a wide variety of tires, I will single out Winter Drive as a worthy option in the class of all-weather tires in terms of price / quality ratio. Until recently, I rode them without changing shoes year-round. This is convenient, because you do not have to wait for the arrival of the insidious autumn ice on summer tires, and then the spring clinking dry asphalt on winter tires, so that later you can stand in line for tire fitting. The only thing I noticed on the last set was that one of the wheels wore out unevenly. There was a slight vibration on the steering wheel, I drove in to check the wheels and it turned out that the track beats on one of the four wheels. Taking into account the fact that all wheels are always well balanced, the wheel alignment is checked every six months, this puzzled me a little. I called Cordiant, outlined the problem and a nice girl said that a quality specialist would contact me to clarify the technical details. In fact, no one called me back :) In general, I have nothing to blame for these tires, they honestly go for two whole seasons (total mileage in the region of 40-60 thousand km), taking into account the rearrangement every 20 thousand km, after which I wrote them off before the next winter, despite the fact that the pattern still allows you to roll the tire further. It’s just that in ice with more than 50% wear of the pattern on the all-weather season, I personally do not advise anyone to drive. See photo, the wheels rolled back about 30 thousand.

Pros
  • - reliable (in terms of durable and safe) - holds the road well in winter and summer - predictable handling on ice - in winter it pulls on any road (although it happens that it is buried in the snow) - no hydroplaning
Cons
  • - on asphalt noisier than summer ones (although they are M + S) - there is no demanded high profile in the line (1652022225/80R13) - uneven track wear (revealed on 1 wheel out of 8) - the inner layer is cracking (not critical, but a fact) - a little soft, sometimes there is not enough sharpness on the steering wheel

Different pros: Noise is less than spikes, the price is quite reasonable! Cons below: While I can not say anything
