Review on Fix SticksFix Sticks Replaceable Multi by Steve Hauck

Smart, beautifully designed, well implemented, but a bit pricey. Terrible case.

This is a well thought out driver kit. The individual rods are well made and have a solid weight. Essentially, you get two sticks, each with a hex nut. You can then stick one inside the other to form a T, and the bit's hexagonal shape will snap into the magnetic center of the other stick. When nested together in a T-shape, you can get plenty of torque to drive in or remove screws or bolts, or you can quickly drive in/remove a loose screw by twisting a rod. It's particularly well designed for portability (e.g. tossed in a sock bag for a cyclist or a hiking bag or everyday bag for general use), it's also small enough to toss in a drawer or on a desk for leaving quick chores at home. The standard set comes with hex bits (because it's made for cyclists), but you can buy a boatload of bits from your local hardware store to set your heart on the joy of a Phillips, Flathead, Torx or whatever you like want to fill. On the other hand, it's a bit difficult. It's a bit pricey for what it is. And the carrying case that comes with it is pretty terrible. While I probably won't be carrying it around in my bag all day, the weight doesn't matter as long as it fits in a bag. It's expensive, but it's also a relatively new product (so perhaps there's little production cost included), and you're only paying so much for its gadgetry. As for the tote, it just stinks and I can't think of a sensible way to turn it in a positive direction. So it's a tricky screwdriver, after all. It has a limited reach, which isn't a problem for the target audience (cyclists and little DIYers), but it's no substitute for a full set of screwdrivers or, for that matter, a really good ratchet wrench with interchangeable bits. . If you like smart apps, you'll probably love it. However, if you use the services 100%, you can consider the high price.
