I expected that this kettle would please. It's the exact same shape and design as the one we've used and loved for years (which is finally starting to wear out on the underside and therefore needs to be replaced). Ok, the old one was white and red, and the new one is black and white, but everything else is the same. Except that the spout on this one doesn't quite fit the kettle properly. As a result, the kettle does not crow, no matter how vigorously the water boils. Now you can boil water in a pot - the whole point of a whistling kettle is in the whistle. Because it doesn't whistle or emit warning tones, the security feature you're buying it for doesn't work. every time
