Review on DC Sports LPR-100 Universal Front License Plate Tow Hook Relocation Mounting Kit, Black, 12.75 Inch: Secure and Stylish Tow Hook License Plate Holder by Dave Neal

Got it working on a 2006 Mercedes S class with parking sensors.

Standard nuts should be replaced with lock nuts. Stainless steel hardware wouldn't hurt either. The mid shaft was too long so I had to cut it down. Installed on a 2006 Mercedes S-65 AMG with parking sensors. I had to install with the shaft in the top right holes and bend the ends of the top number plate down around the mounting plate so I didn't get a constant warning beep. I used the longest offset, medium expansion fit, and medium length threaded shank. I replaced all the bolts/washers/nuts with stainless steel and used all the locknuts. To prevent accidentally loosening the nut on the threaded center shaft, I added a JB weld around the end of the nut and the threads. Time will tell if that works. There is a slight downward rotational force that tends to loosen the nut on a misaligned mount. It doesn't look like it will hold up to an automatic wash and I won't test it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Long lead time
