Arm itself works for us

I bought this for my difficult to care for Maltese boy who is 5lbs 12oz. He bites the brush and runs around trying to run away when I try to groom him so we bought him hoping he would solve our problem. The grooming handle attaches easily to our wooden kitchen table and feels fairly stable, although it does swivel a bit. I put a small rug on the kitchen table for my dog to stand on and then thoroughly disinfect the table with Lysol Kitchen Cleaner to make sure it's clean afterwards. My dog is very small so I'm not worried about her pulling her hand in to brush when she's cleaning. I don't think she is strong or heavy enough to do this. The clamp left a slight scuff mark on the wood, but that doesn't bother me as this tool really helps with maintenance. However, this did not completely "fix" the problem. Even though I put both a rubber neck loop and a rubber waist harness on my dog, he can still partially rotate around him, which doesn't hold him in place as I would like. It seems too big for him, also I found the rubber collar too "hard" for my dog's neck, my dog has a very sensitive windpipe. I found the soft nylon sling that comes with this set to be much more helpful for my small dog. To get rid of the biting problem, I had to buy a soft net that my dog was only supposed to wear while grooming. That works great. My dog can still jump, turn and tilt his head. But caring for him has become much less of an everyday ordeal now that I have a dog grooming hand, a soft nylon neck loop and a muzzle. Grooming takes a lot less time and is a lot less of a chore for both me and my dog than before. I recommend this hand for grooming a small dog that is difficult to groom. I'm not sure how he handles a big, heavy dog. I thought it was good value for money and a fair price.
