I ordered this product specifically due to a medical need to charge the battery which is connected to the mains with a regular cord. I live in a hurricane zone so this really bothered me and I knew I couldn't handle a portable generator. Tried this item out on a one hour drive. My battery was fully charged while driving, so yes, it works great. The only thing I noticed is that after unplugging the car to fill the gas tank, I had to unplug and plug it back in after starting the car. Never mind, but I'm glad I discovered this during my "test run". This item will definitely meet my needs! Many Thanks
