Bought this cable in 2014 to connect to a large TV. worked fine Recently the TV reported that there was no video connection. Thought it was a laptop (very old 13 inch Mac laptop). Then the same issue was encountered with a newer 15-inch Mac Pro laptop. Suspicion arose, so we tested the cable, replaced Cable Matters' working cable connection with this suspicious cable, and found it wouldn't work. The problem has been identified. Contacted Cable Matters last week (April 2016). They confirmed the problem, sent me a replacement free of charge, and included a return label so I could send the defective cable back. Production time - one week. The cable exchange works flawlessly and I am delighted with this customer support. Maybe it should be a 3 or 4 star product rating as the original cable failed in less than 2 years, but the superior responsiveness more than a year after purchase justifies 5 stars. Update 07/21/2016 Thought the cable was broken. time after time, after I contacted them, Cable Matters offered to replace the cable for free. In the end the problem turned out to be in the clutch I had in the circuit and not the cable so the SM was misidentified as a defective product. My fault is not yours. However, the customer service representative was very responsive, courteous and cooperative, and I have to say he is impeccable. I have been staying with this supplier for my cable needs for a long time.
