These covers work really well. They provide an excellent seal and make a great replacement kit for those hard plastic caps that wear out/break over time. Also great for large fruit collections, mixes (pancakes/waffles/cakes) or salad in bowls/ports that you don't have lids for. Silicone is a versatile material that stretches well, but like any physical object, it has limitations (will stretch within a range). This is not a product defect, just a reality to consider when figuring out what you need them for. I definitely recommend that you make sure the food is cold before you cover it and put it in the fridge. . As with any lid, food will condense on the lid after you place it in a cool refrigerator. However, once you open them up and try to stretch backwards, moisture becomes an obstacle to stretching as your hands slip off very easily. Rinse and dry the lid - before stretching it again - or send your bowl over/off the counter. The silicone is smooth and even with grip lines, when it gets wet it gets pretty slick. I probably won't wash it in the dishwasher (as every outer silicone I've ever used hardens with high heat or exposure to sunlight). This is also a reason to make sure the food is well chilled before covering it. However, they are very easy to care for, so hand washing (which I do with my hard plastic cases anyway) isn't a big deal. Like other lids, I wouldn't put them in the microwave - it's bad for plastic (and it's generally not good to put next to food). Overall a good set, but watch out for the size. I have a couple of 4 liter mixing bowls that they won't expand to, as well as a couple of saucepans that they won't expand to. I buy an extra set to cover them. It's important to analyze your needs and note the sizes in each kit to ensure you're 'covering' (haha) all the product areas you need them for. A recommended product but a great addition to your kitchen.
