Review on Enhanced Cat6 Ethernet Cable for Industrial Electrical Applications by Todd Phillips

Exactly what I needed

Wi-Fi adapter is great, but if you need a LAN connection and not near a modem or router, you'll have to improvise. I had to move a family member's workstation home and it was across the room from the router and modem. Enter this cat6. Yes, it's longer than necessary, but after routing it along the floor panel of the room and hiding it in a way that the panel doesn't look bad, we not only hid the cable, but also gave the desktop a LAN connection in the process. . We also left the rest of the coiled and bundled cable hidden under the workstation in case we needed to move it further.

Pros
  • CONFIGURATION - 20 foot Category 6 ethernet patch cord has 8 24 AWG solid copper conductors. Each of the 4 unshielded twisted pairs (UTP) is separated by a polyethylene cross-gap to isolate the pairs and prevent crosstalk and is covered by a 5.8mm thick PVC jacket with RJ45 connectors and gold plated contacts. Molded strain relief covers help eliminate snags that can damage cables. They are shaped for flexibility and resistance to normal wear and tear.
Cons
  • Expensive
