Review on Dell U3219Q 32-Inch LED Lit Monitor - High Dynamic Range, 60Hz Refresh Rate by Adam Ivanitch

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great workplace monitor

The monitor came with no dead pixels and didn't need to be calibrated. I use it mostly for programming, graphics work, web browsing, and casual gaming. If you're a pure gamer, you're probably better off with a FreeSync or G-Sync monitor, and this is neither. Seriously, don't waste your money on this if gaming is your priority. You'll be much better served with a monitor with faster response times and refresh rates, and it costs considerably less. This is intended for more serious work where color accuracy, multiple height/tilt/pan options, pixel density, better viewing angles, etc. are more important. I hooked it up to a Radeon 5700XT, the fonts are crisp and easy to read without having to scale them. . The color is excellent, with deep blacks, bright whites and great contrast. I can see even the smallest differences in color tones. There are no built-in speakers, I don't need them anyway, but others may have them. however, those looking for absolute perfection may find this a turnoff. I think if I wanted to be bothered by glare I could show a completely black background in a completely dark room and then fret over imperfections, but I have more important things to do with my time. I've read complaints of the monitor "turning off" randomly, I didn't experience this in my setup, although it has happened with other Dell monitors I've had in the past. I'm using a direct DisplayPort connection and everything works fine for me. For desktop use, 32 inches is the ideal size for 4K, any size is smaller and text is too difficult to read when larger and in sight. becomes difficult, resulting in a lot of head movement. It's amazing to have four 1280 x 1080 windows at the same time, and the extra space for graphics saves a lot of time.
