Review on Trio Portable Monitor Laptops,Full Nintendo 14.1", 60Hz, Monitor For Laptop, Swivel Adjustment, Height Adjustment, Trio Max, IPS by Diztymewntu Sherman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Portable and functional but sags and sticks; useless in cars and planes

I use this at home with a large laptop. It's great for separating my tasks: left screen for email/dispute/other messages, middle screen for gaming/development/web browsing. I had intermittent reset issues when connected via USB-A, but switching to the MacBook's USB-C port fixed the issue. The video is good, it displays videos and games at full speed without stuttering and overall it's an improvement for my workplace. It has five main problems. Sagging: The sliding mechanism is not fixed well at the end of the action. The top hinge stays in place, but the bottom hinge moves back under the weight of the screen. The entire monitor is tilted down. It still works but is very distracting and annoying. Required Surface: Magnets *cannot* support the weight of the screen. You *must* have a laptop stand, or one big enough to support the bottom of the screen. This is not possible in my vanpool and some aircraft trays. I would like the magnets to have a tongue and groove system or French bar so the magnets glued to the monitor can support the weight of the monitor. Bindings: Opening and closing the screen can be difficult. There is too much friction and often it jams just a few inches before closing. Sometimes I need to "slam" the screen or take it off for better understanding. Impossible to control: The touch areas on the front that adjust brightness, contrast, etc. are completely invisible unless illuminated by bright light. They're also right where you slide the monitor in and out. There are no tactile indicators such as bumps, protrusions or notches. Cable overhang: The supplied cable only has a 90° angle at one end. Either it's sticking out of your laptop or it's sticking out of your monitor. Placing the port on the hinge side would fix this, as would low-profile rectangular adapters on either end. Oh. While using it, this monitor is a delight. If I pass, it's a fight.
