Review on πŸ”‹ Power Up Your Metalworking Efficiency with Ramsond CUT 50DX Inverter Portable by Jim Shirodkar

Worked for about 30 minutes (intermittent use) and then died

I had terrible trouble getting this plasma cutter. The first stuck in the void of UPS, went back and forth for several days, finally showed it was delivered but never got delivered. I asked for a replacement which came from somewhere else and was delivered to me within two days. I used it for about 30 minutes of cutting time over two weekends and it worked very well until it broke and died. Raven sent me a replacement. This also became invalid for UPS and was never delivered again. Tracking showed they went back and forth for the delivery - someone must have figured out a clever way to steal them. I got tired of waiting for a replacement so I got a refund from Revain (who handled the issues perfectly) and ordered a LT5000D Lotos 50A air inverter plasma cutter. It looks almost the same as the Ramsond, but has a rear indicator and a different trigger (I found the trigger awkward to pull on the Cut DY), so I'm hoping it doesn't die too. Also, you don't get any additional consumables with the LT unit. (It turned out that this block is probably the same as the Ramsond block - see below). I tried twice to contact Ramsond about the dying unit issue but they never replied to me. Bad sign! UPS has a terrible way of handling customer inquiries. If you want to beat the automation, just press 0 and 0 again to go to the real person. Unfortunately they are a call center and will only read what you already see in the tracking information and tell you the item is ready to ship even if you know it won't be delivered. Friendly but not very helpful. It actually seems impossible to speak to anyone at the local UPS unless you drive up to the UPS location. back of the unit and to a good earth ground, which may prevent problems. It has to be used to avoid electronic interference called noise, and also when you have an earth connection in the outlet, but I don't know if it's meant for more. These plasma cutters cut really well, but I'm looking for reliability. I hope the LT block isn't a lemon either. Additional Info: I read more about these blocks and the problems people had to get the torch to work. It turns out these devices need to touch bare metal to start them, they do NOT start by themselves and require a clean surface to work. Rust, paint or other resistances stop the arc. Therefore, you must clean the surface before you start cutting. You won't cut metal mesh easily either, as the cutter will stop every time it leaves the metal. I returned the LT5000D unopened and traded it in for an LTP5000D LOTOS IGBT Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter 110/220VAC 1/2" CNC Cutting with Automatic CNC Cutting That costs $100 more, but I think the automatic start makes up for the extra worth the money I see many complaints about poor manuals and lack of cutting information Visit Millerwelds website for plasma cutting speed tips to avoid metal structures going under the cut This will improve your technique and make your plasma cutting more efficient .to a whole new level.
