Seamless replacement for Time Warner San Diego Rental Device

Updated Review 1/24/15: TWC recently upgraded my service's upload/download speed by 1 Mbps from 3 Mbps to 6 Mbps 2 increased. The modem used to work fine and continues to work even after TWC's bandwidth increase. I am very satisfied with this device. Initial Review 1/20/13: I decided to purchase a used unit as the Motorola unit I replaced had served me perfectly for 10 years. This device is currently (January 2012) listed as an eligible device for Time Warner San Diego. Please note that I am using a lower internet service (download 3 Mbit/s, upload 1 Mbit/s). You may need to select a different modem to be compatible with your high-speed/boosted service. I installed and started the device in just a few minutes: 1. I called Time Warner Cable, had a new device in my hands, and was ready to give the TWC agent the MAC address of the device, which I did.2 . The agent instructed me to replace the block.3. After the cable modem's PC/Activity LED started blinking (about 45 seconds to this point to boot), I pinged the external address ([.]) and rebooted my router/WLAN access point.4. After a successful reboot of my access point, successful pings of [.].5 started coming. Confirmed that the browser is working properly by doing a few clear searches on Google. The device is equipped with an Ethernet cable and a power adapter. Comes with no USB cable or software (not required if you are using a router or access point, or only have one computer connected to the internet). Enjoy!
