The packaging and operation of the device is fine. I bought this to replace an inexpensive dial indicator but I use several different heads and had to add a coupler to the output. Figuring out the type and size of the thread was a challenge as it is not the usual size used for this type of application. If anyone is looking for a female thread on the output side of the device, it is a 5/16 inch compression thread. I found it at a local ACE hardware store and then added a standard 1/4" (female) coupler. to keep my system the same as before. Everything is tight and I'm happy. Can't comment on durability or battery life as only time will tell.
