Slide the cable into the battery holder and secure the item AS WELL AS A BATTERY: The battery is included and fastens with a clip. If you read the instructions with your camera it says push the little rubber grommet out of the way to allow the cable to exit the side of the battery compartment and after you put the battery adapter back in place, close the door as if it were a battery. The door must be closed for the camera to turn on. This isn't rocket science.
