Review on Hollyland Official Full Duplex Wireless Transceivers by Justin Dorsett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This device has great potential.

I broadcast a classical/pop concert in the end zone of a soccer field in the summer. Obviously, an intercom is needed for seven cameras. I have a wired, inexpensive intercom from another manufacturer, but the idea of running about 300 meters of cable didn't appeal to me. I first tried the Eartec system, but even though I was within the stated range limits, the signal wasn't strong enough to cover the field (I pointed it towards the end zone from the RV). So I went looking. to replace the system. ClearCom was charging about $10,000 for a five headset system, money I couldn't spend, and two headsets were still missing. So I opened Holland online. I looked at several video reviews, they were all very flattering. I gritted my teeth and bought two Mars T1000 systems with the intention of connecting the two base stations together with a long Ethernet cable. TRRS connector for the headsets themselves. The headsets were comfortable enough, maybe a bit small for some heads. When no one is talking (or their mic is muted) during operation, the system is quiet as a graveyard, which if you're used to a little hissing or muffled audio can be quite disconcerting. But did they work? Suppose the answer is yes. The range was short even though base station 2 was 200 feet away from base station 1. When people lined up in a semicircle about 100 feet from the base, there was always a time when one or the other camera wouldn't work. don't hear me During the performance, the fact that there was an audience of 2,000 absorbing radio frequencies was a problem in my opinion, even though I hoisted Base Station 2 10 feet in the air on a pigeon dish and tall lighting stand. If more than one person in the field tries to talk to the truck at the same time, basically everything will be blocked. So should I leave it? Yes, I think I should - there's not much that can support up to 10 headsets simultaneously for less than $20,000. But it's not perfect.

Pros
  • 1000 feet full duplex
Cons
  • Some bugs
