Don't be told your laptop's cameras can't be turned on remotely without your knowledge. That's absolutely not true. If you're like me and value your privacy, I'm very careful about closing cameras. These slim little devices attach securely to your laptop or cell phone camera. It covers those tiny little lenses very closely but pops out and doesn't interfere. I've attached an image of this so you can see the actual size compared to a typical desktop webcam. They're too small for a desktop webcam, but great for a laptop or cell phone. Great little security upgrade for the price. I will buy more and I knock them and eventually fall.
