Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Lichamp Automotive Gauge Set for R1234YF, R134A, and R404A Refrigerants - 4 Valve Manifold Gauge for Car Freon Charging and Evacuation by Chris Munns

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty decent R134a and R1234yf calibration kit with a needed improvement.

I have never had any other air conditioning sensor but I have tried this sensor with both R134a and R1234yf. The air conditioning of both cars works. R134a is easier everywhere with help and tutorial videos, but R1234yf is a different story. There are almost no video tutorials and the settings are a bit difficult to understand. I think what helps the most is being able to read the pressure on the high side with a gauge. Before that I used these A/C Pro charge kits which are only low side pressure based. Be careful when charging your air conditioner with this type of charging kit. If you've never used it in your system they might work fine, but I don't suggest using it a second time as you can easily overload your AC and damage my clutch like I did. I used a simple reload kit and overcharged the system, causing the compressor to stall and burning the rubber on the clutch housing. One thing I've learned is to pay close attention to high pressure and charge slowly. The system takes time to build up pressure on the high side when freon is loaded on the low side. It is necessary to allow time for both sides of the pressure to stabilize after the freon is filled from the low-pressure side. Overall this kit works well for me. The only complaint/suggestion for improvement I have is to include a connector adapter for refilling freon bottles with a valve. Or simply reduce the diameter of the spike on the adapter. If you use freon in a bottle with a valve, then the current diameter of the pin is too large. So if you try to use the pin to open the valve, there is almost no room for freon to exit the bottle. It was not easy to use R134a Pheon cylinder with valve. Apart from this problem, the kit has proven itself very well. My son's R1234yf air conditioner is now freezing. Btw their supplies of R1234yf are damn expensive.
