Failed 6th February 2016 Delivered 18th September 2015 After reading other reviews I tested this unit outside the car before installing it. I recommend the same to anyone who buys one of these. Other reviewers mentioned squeaks and various harsh noises that they didn't recognize until the device was in place. After an hour of crawling under the dashboard, removing screws with straight screwdrivers, etc., the last thing you need to do is reverse the process to replace the block. Mine seemed to be hooked up to a 12v battery pretty well, so I removed the old unit and tested it again with the speed controller on the dash. It still seemed good, so I installed it. I notice fan noise when I hit a bump. As if the gap between the fan and the housing were too small. If things don't improve within the next 1000 miles because the fan wears a bit when it makes contact with the case, I'll probably pull it out and relocate the fan blade to sit a little higher on the shaft.
