Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhance Tire Monitoring with Denso 550-0103 TPMS Sensor - A Reliable and Accurate Solution by Montez Parson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent OEM part - Comes 'asleep' - Plays possum - You have to wake him up

I was really baffled by the negative reviews complaining that these sensors were failing or came with dead batteries. Denso usually makes very high quality parts and these gauges (made in Japan) are no exception. I am very satisfied with the purchased sensor. HERE'S THE THING: These sensors come in "sleep mode" to conserve battery power and extend its life. You must WAKE BATTERY UP before your vehicle's system will recognize and read the sensor. If you don't "wake him up", he will look and act exactly like a dead battery, ie he will "play possum". " with your tool. If you do chores around the house or have an old TPMS tool at the store, you need to wake up the sensor the old-fashioned way. Install the sensor and inflate the tire to the correct specs. Install the inflated one Tire on the car so the sensor is in the correct range THEN quickly deflate the tire for about 30 seconds This should deflate the tire by at least 20 lbs Re-inflate the tire to proper specifications and continue to the tool trigger and/or Repeat the learning process. Your tool should recognize the sensor within minutes, if not immediately. Don't forget to copy the sensor ID before installing it in the tire. This procedure worked for me on my 2010 Prius." the sensor even though I entered the new ID correctly. When I quickly "woke it up" after releasing about 20 pounds of pressure, TechStream started reading it.
