I wanted something for the outlet on the wall behind the sofa. Since it's a wall perpendicular to the sofa, it's easy for me to get to, but that's where I keep my air purifier, so most of the time I only have one outlet available. And since it allowed me to use the cable to charge my iPhones or iPads without having to plug them into my MacBook's USB port, that was a bonus. Arrived quickly enough, easy enough to get the product and luckily the device is self explanatory as the instructions are not intended for this device at all. It only talks about units that can be wall or baseboard mounted and nothing about using the screw hole on the wall plate on the socket to mount them. But again, that at least speaks for itself. The design of the back panel is excellent - I like the ledge at the bottom that goes into the base of the second socket - helps keep it more stable rather than just being attached to the wall with the top socket and a screw - there are three Attachment points so no rotational movement. Unfortunately, with everything clipping right in the middle, there's a sideways flex - for example, something is plugged in on the left side, if you don't hold the device when you pull it out, you'll find the device moving to the left of the wall away. Of course it's not going to come out with the screw and all, but that kind of force all the time will cause the socket itself to start playing against its attachment more. But since this can also happen without (certainly everyone has at some point encountered a socket that at some point dangled behind the plate and it was necessary to tighten the screws under the plate that attach the plugs), this is not enough to distract from it The rating.
