Context is everything

As others have pointed out, context is everything. Priced at around $250, this laptop is an amazing deal for an all-purpose laptop that isn't very fast. 5-7 years ago this would have been state of the art performance but today it is slow. There's no getting around it - it's cheap and slow. But once you overcome the need for speed, you'll have a lot of fun. The weight is heavy, the finish feels a bit premium, it's thin, and while the keyboard doesn't have a backlight, it has good contrast, is responsive, and is easy to type on. And surprisingly, the trackpad is very good, far exceeding it in its class. On the downside, Wi-Fi is slow, no doubt CPU-limited. Actually, I read 433 Mbps Wi-Fi speed in the Control Panel app, but the speed test only showed me 46.7 Mbps download speed for this connection. However, oddly, I have a download speed of 65.8Mbps, so it's possible it's a driver issue, even though I updated all drivers and software before testing. While the listing claims 8-10 hours of use on a single charge, I got around 3-4 hours on balanced mode. Who is this laptop for? Someone on a budget, maybe a college student paying for themselves, or someone who does online shopping, basic word processing, and other office tasks who values portability and cost over performance. If my 80 year old mother were looking for a laptop, this would be my top choice for her - simple, functional, easy to use and with a good keyboard.
