OK so for now I'm just laughing that I ordered the monitor on Friday and it was delivered on Sunday. Then I ordered this speaker on Sunday afternoon and it arrived on Monday. Installation on my U2412M was a breeze. Cable management aside, I unboxed it, installed it on my monitor, plugged it in and was up and running in less than 2 minutes. My only real "issues" are that it could use better bass. But honestly? That's all. And for the $11.70 I paid for it, it's a hell of a deal. Is it better than the laptop speakers on my Dell E5530 laptop? Waaa better. The plastic differs slightly from the monitor in color, black, gloss and texture, but not much. The easily accessible and swiveling volume control is handy, as are the microphone and headphone jacks on the other side. Some reviews mention a line of white LEDs running up and down the center of the device, behind the grille, and on the back. diffuser. I'd say it's less bright than the power LED on my other Viewsonic monitor. But I would do without the backlight, or maybe a tiny one, about the size of a single grid hole. Cheap, sounds damn good for its size, useful features, attractive and incredibly easy to install. What more can you ask for? Do I pay $20 more for a little more bass? Yes, but still I think it will still work well enough for most people.
