Review on Brick Building Play Mat SCS by Kevin Carey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very strong but wish it would hold the stones a little better

I got two of these for my 7 year old for his birthday and overall I'm very happy with them. This is probably the most durable brick rug I've seen and since it's made from a nice thick piece of silicone I suspect it would work well as an oven mitt as well. The lego bricks are easy to move and hold up fairly securely even when the mat is on a carpet. The only problem is that the mat has no real adhesion to the Legos lying on it, which appears to be an issue with the flexibility of the silicone. Material. I suppose the designers could increase the size of the LEGO dots a bit for slightly better performance (maybe even just make it bigger?). Anyway, I think the pros outweigh the cons, and there's definitely a benefit to not having bricks stuck to the mat as well. I would buy them again, just don't recommend them if you're trying to build thin structures or similar.
