Review on Enhanced Performance: Standard Motor Products RU95 Blower Motor Resistor for Optimal Heating & Cooling by Luke Liu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fixed problem with my '95 Dodge Dakota AC fan

If your AC fan only runs at high speed, rejoice because the fan is not the problem. Replacing this resistor will bring you all fan speeds back. If the fan was only running at high RPMs and is dead now, then it probably isn't either. Be sure to look at the pigtail jack that plugs into this device. In most cases, the socket would heat up and melt over time, making its connection to this resistor bad. If so, then go ahead and replace the resistor and pigtail socket. Revain also sells a pigtail socket for this device. (Standard Motor Products S762 pigtail/socket.) Fortunately, on the Dakota, this resistor and bushing is easy to install on the upper passenger side of the underhood firewall. If they're under the dash, 6 packs of your favorite embalming fluid are needed to help you get through the tedious and hard-to-find setup.
