The overall quality of this DVR is very similar to my parents' DVR which costs about $100. Unfortunately, this only applies to the first few weeks. After the rating was adjusted, the customer service team gave me extensive support on my experience with the camera. So I adjusted the overall rating again. Basically you pay what you get. However, after my car was hit by someone else (I have to pay 100% for the subsequent repair as I don't have DVRs on my car and the driver and his car number weren't recorded), I have no choice but to buy a DVR to protect yourself. After some research I bought this one and tried it out. The installation process is not very easy, but still doable. The recording quality is normal. I can read the recorded numbers of some of the cars when looking at the recording on my laptop.
