Review on Enhanced Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener: Apple HomeKit, Siri, Alexa & Google Assistant Compatibility, No Hub Required, Wireless Remote Control by Peris Holland

A very easy way to add a homekit to your existing garage door openers. Works perfectly!

I bought 2 of these, 1 for a 2 car garage door and the other for a single car garage door. The hardest part of the installation was figuring out which terminals on my garage door opener plug in the 2 wires coming out of the control module. I started by removing the button on the wall and looking at the wires attached to it. I figured I could then identify the same wires that go into the garage door opener terminals. This was not the case. The wires connecting to the button and the garage door were different colors, apparently with a splice somewhere in between. What I did to get around this was to completely disconnect the first wire from its connector and try the button, if the garage door opener didn't respond then I knew I had one of the two connectors I needed. The instructions said it didn't matter which wire from the control module went to which terminal on the garage door opener, so once I found a wire the wire next to it had to be different. Then I inserted two wires and after connecting the device to the Homekit I pressed the button. The garage door opened! But it wouldn't go in the opposite direction. I reasoned that this was because I hadn't connected the magnetic sensor yet to detect if the door was closed or not. I was right, once I connected this door it responded both ways as needed. The total assembly time was about an hour. However, when I installed a second 1 car garage door the next day, it only took about 20 minutes. My garage doors respond literally instantly when I press any of the buttons on the Homekit. Sometimes Siri is a bit slow, but overall it's ok. I didn't use the Refoss app at all, I went straight to Homekit where the device is identified as a Meross anyway. I talked about ordering Meross at a higher price and I'm very glad I didn't. Overall I am very happy with this device!
