Suitable for direct replacement of long nylon screens. I tied a string to the handle and pulled it out of the gas cap so it's easy to pull out now. I just replaced two of these in my house and in my rental. This filter comes highly recommended by my septic tank company and they know what they are doing. Hopefully I won't have to clean it every 3 months as promised like I did with the nylon mesh.
