Great buckle. Intuitively you want to lift the buckle to release the strap. This buckle does just that. I have another ratchet strap and it has a button. Sometimes I try unsuccessfully to lift this buckle and then I remember the button. The belt is not as wide as my other belts so be sure to check the belt width before purchasing. Closing the buckle on the belt was also much more difficult than with my other ratchet belt. My teeth couldn't just bite through a letter, and I had to place the buckle face down on a hard surface and lean on it with all my weight, so that my teeth bit into the skin and fastened the buckle to the belt.
