The capacity of this portable tank is large. This problem is that there is no vent in the lid or in this tank. So when you're out on the water and the sun is shining on you, there's pressure. The tank expands and bulges so much you feel like weeping around the gas cap. You can tighten it as you like, you still miss. And that fuel is in your boat now. I had to install a vent in this tank which fixed this problem. This problem can be corrected if the manufacturer replaces the cap with one that has a relief valve.
