It's not about JOKE! for engines and engine parts

Installed on 2018 4Runner TRD Pro Premium. Installation was pretty easy, but it took me 25 or 30 minutes. Nobody mentions that it's a bit difficult to unplug the adapter from the plug to the gas pedal. It's almost impossible to do it manually. I took a flathead screwdriver and placed it on the right side of the connector, just below the bottom edge. I slowly turned the screwdriver so that it was vertical, it worked, it popped out immediately. I fed the wire through the slot under the stirrer level control. Then I mounted it to the right of the steering wheel (note: do this before you connect it to the gas pedal, otherwise you will have to remove it again). How it works: It's funny! I drive it in +2 or +3 city and get better gas mileage than stock. This mode also gives me all the power I need. Eco is pretty sluggish but you get great MPG (it's got less throttle/response than stock for sure). Sport and sport plus are crazy. As others have said, you barely step on the pedal and you're gone. I know it doesn't increase HP, but man, it definitely tricks you into thinking it does. I paired this with a CatBack Magnaflow exhaust. My only concern or negative is taking it to the dealer. The instructions state that you should only disable it for scheduled maintenance, but if you need to isolate the problem, it's recommended to uninstall it. I'm wondering if there are any warranty issues. But I'll just delete it. Installation wasn't that bad! I just filled up my tank to drive from San Diego, CA to Big Bear, CA and back. I was in the plus 2 city and pulled 18.8mpg. Thing is impressive. Very happy with my purchase. Now I'm wondering what I would draw in Eco mode!

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
