Works with my Yamaha receiver with System Power and Standby on the remote

Top Tip. If your Yamaha receiver has "System Power" and "Standby" options on the remote, try pressing the Channel + (Channel Up) button on the remote to turn on the receiver, which is the equivalent of "System Power". is equivalent to. Review: I have a Yamaha RX-V1400 audio receiver and had to replace the remote control as it stopped working. I was considering replacing the exact same remote and it cost over $100 so I needed a simple on/off and volume control. At first I thought it wasn't working with my receiver because I've tried all the Yamaha codes listed and the receiver wouldn't turn on. I ended up using the automatic code finder (which starts with the receiver on) and it found a code that was one of those listed. The trick was that to turn the receiver on, you had to use the Channel + (channel up) button on the remote to turn on the receiver. To turn off the receiver, use the power button on the remote control. This is because the Yamaha receiver has separate buttons for System Power (Channel + on this remote) and Standby (Power on this remote). I was happy to find a cheap replacement for my Yamaha receiver. but I bought the 4 device version and decided to enter the codes for my Vizio TV (2020 P series) and Verizon One FiOS STB and it worked with the features I needed. As an added bonus, the Vizio TV remote that uses SmartCast for their smart apps also controls my Revain Fire TV Stick 4K. It's not a feature of this remote per se, but I'm happy to see that TV control from this remote works on the Fire TV Stick as well. I never wanted it to be one remote to control them all but I'm testing as such right now. Maybe I'll update the rating after longer use.
