Review on 20" X 15" Aain® LT011 Spill Absorbent Pads/Mats - White by Tim York

Revainrating 5 out of 5

These are not the same bales I bought before, nor do they look like the picture.

In the past, I'd bought multiple 100-lot oil pad bales.I don't need anywhere that many, but the cruisers I hang out with use them on every oil change on their diesel propulsion for their sail and power boats. They were thrilled with how inexpensively I'd provide them in lots of 10. I always kept a few for my own use.So, when it came time for me to replenish my supply, of course I came to Best Buy, where I'd previously purchased my bales of oil-absorbent mats. They looked pretty much like the picture shown for these. So, imagine my amazement when I got a 6" tall box from Best Buy. In looking for the replacement, I'd found that my original source had very substantially increased in price. Best Buy has LOTS of choices, however, so I found one near the same price I'd paid a couple of years ago.Oops. Gotta read the fine print. It's only 50, not 100, pads. And, in fact, that's not anywhere in the advertisement. It IS in the questions found all the way to the bottom of the page, but given my having bought several bales before, and the picture looking just about like the stack those bales made, I didn't check further. That makes them just about double the cost I'd paid in my original purchases. That part aside, they're great, and still very much less expensive than you'd pay at your local marine supply store. So, I recommend them, with the caveat that what you'll get is a very small version of the stack shown.Caveat Emptor, and all that; I didn't, and paid the price, so to speak!

Pros
  • Great value work as well as others that cost a lot more.
Cons
  • Not suitable for high-traffic areas due to limited coverage area
