I haven't used my son's hockey helmet pads since he started playing hockey 4 years ago. They work great to keep sweat out of his eyes. For the first few months of playing hockey, I would always see him stick his fingers in the cage and try to wipe the sweat from his face. He usually goes through 2-3 of these a week. However, for the last 2-3 packs I've ordered, I've found that I can only get 1 application at a time. Before that, I could usually reuse the same balaclava for at least two training sessions as long as I aired the helmet and gave it time to dry. The latest packages are sometimes not even enough for 1 training session. My son complained that the balaclava was separated from the helmet before training. At $1.50 per liner, it gets expensive to use only once. Maybe I need to look for alternatives to save some money.
