Got through the washing machine in your pocket and still works. I have 3 of these now and have experienced the cycle of crashes described by others. That's strange because on my home PC, every card works fine in every one of these readers over every USB port. At work I have front USB 2.0 ports with full (slower) functionality; rear USB 2.0 ports with most features except the ability to delete items from an SD card; and rear USB 3.0 ports causing a crash loop. I added a dual-port USB 3.0 front panel (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J4EZE4U) to my work computer, and the card reader connected to these USB ports has full (high-speed) functionality of limited testing what I did yesterday. I've come to the conclusion that it must be the power supply and this card reader requires a little more power than the others.
