I bought this specifically to use the SM57 in spoken language and the tone it produces is almost identical to the SM7B while pops and Explosions are greatly reduced! And it doesn't cost $400 OR requires a preamp. As a windbreak, it does well against explosives and the like, but doesn't have much of an effect on sibilance. If you're running this on 57 and want to budget as close to 7B as possible and don't care how it looks, you can go with the A81WS instead, but the A2WS looks MUCH less goofy on video and sounds almost as good. One thing. You will need a small flathead screwdriver to tighten it in the mic and it will visibly scratch the mic. But okay. This is SM57! Tourist buses go through these things and they still work great.
