Starrett quality through and through

If you ever have to choose between Starrett and something else, do yourself a favor and choose Starrett. I have to admit that in the past I've been tempted to save $10-$20 by going with an alternative brand, but each time I've regretted it. I bought this item to draw extremely precise lines in dovetail joints. boxing I didn't need the specially hardened tips found in some versions of this tool since I worked exclusively on wood, but I did need the 2β…ž inch extensions in this version so I could reach the corners of each joint. The tool worked flawlessly and after a few turns of the knurled collet the scriber was released allowing the pointed end to be safely stowed in the handle. Overall a fine tool that works flawlessly and lives up to the Starrett name admirably. If you are looking for a writer then look no further because you have just found the best one.
