This is an amazing dollhouse! It is made of durable wood, as is the very nice furniture. This will last for many years of play. The house is really big! You need a lot of space for that. I haven't assembled much and don't really know much about tools, but with a Phillips screwdriver and an allen wrench I was able to put this together! Took me about 4 hours and it wasn't difficult to follow the instructions on the pictures, but would have been a lot easier to put together with two people. All parts were numbered which was great! I understand what people are saying about the elevator but unless it's too narrow it won't fit on every level. I think it works great! I really want the kitchen to have a fridge, stove and sink, and a table. They are painted on the wall. Well, probably not painted, but pictures on the walls. I'll try to buy them and a few more pieces of furniture. The lamp just comes on and goes out by itself. I really can't say enough good things about it! Well packaged, everything arrived safely. I highly recommend this item! Here's a photo of the partially assembled part and I'll add the finished one when I get home tonight.
