I've been driving a jeep for 2 years and didn't think I needed a dead pedal. Then I came across that it was reasonably priced and thought "why not?" I wasn't very impressed the first day and actually was a bit embarrassed as I'm not used to a dead pedal. The next day, I fell in love with it immediately. A broken pedal prevents me from gradually sagging in the seat, which greatly benefits long-distance riding comfort. Here's a little tip. This dead pedal is attached to a bolt on the firewall. You need to remove the nut, attach the dead pedal to the bolt, and then reattach the nut. Instead, go to a hardware store and find an M8x1.25 wing nut and some washers and use them to install a dead pedal in front of the factory nut. This saves you having to loosen the factory nut during assembly. This also allows you to remove the dead pedal without tools if for some reason you need to remove the floor mat.
