Great dead pedal! on body

Having been in a jeep with a dead pedal and now having just completed a long trip (1800 miles) I decided it was time to get it. Made sure I got the same make as the jeep I was in as it was very comfortable to accommodate. I spoke to him yesterday and then found his review. After reading the reviews and some buyers' mentions of installation difficulties, I was ready. It was very easy to install. It was possible to unscrew it with a simple ratchet socket wrench. I put the pre-assembled one in…

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • ok

The metal bracket had to be bent a lot to fit the screw holes. The pedal is too aggressive for me and causes my left knee/leg to spring back more than I prefer. It's fine for aggressive off-road use, but given that this is a full pedal for general driving there won't be any relief. For example, I'd rather have a floating dead pedal so I can tuck my toes under it when I don't need extra support. Another downside is that the Weathertech floor mat is now much more difficult to remove; My guess is…

Great Dead Pedal for JL 2018-20

As others have said, no instructions. But if you've got a Wrangler and can't figure it out in 5 minutes, then you don't need it for these short trips, you mall crawlers. lol! Seriously, it's easy to assemble and install. A 10 mm socket for nuts and a T30 Torx head for screws is used for assembly. The firewall's factory screw simply slides into the 13mm head and, once tightened, fits perfectly. Before tightening the factory nut, simply check the fit and adjust the assembly by aligning the 3…

Great for Gladiator

Just installed on my new Gladiator - love it. It's very adjustable, I don't see how it shouldn't work for almost everyone, regardless of size. The Gladiator needs a little more flexibility to sit properly, but I managed that easily by pinning it to the floor. Mounts on 1 firewall nut and comes with all required screws. I like that they are very long - the whole foot fits on them which makes them much more comfortable than small ones. What's also great is that it's branded with a Jeep grille…

Inexpensive solution to the problem of ergonomics.

I've been driving a jeep for 2 years and didn't think I needed a dead pedal. Then I came across that it was reasonably priced and thought "why not?" I wasn't very impressed the first day and actually was a bit embarrassed as I'm not used to a dead pedal. The next day, I fell in love with it immediately. A broken pedal prevents me from gradually sagging in the seat, which greatly benefits long-distance riding comfort. Here's a little tip. This dead pedal is attached to a bolt on the firewall…

Gods, what a terrible design

First, there are no instructions in the kit. Without the photos from other reviewers I would have no idea how to assemble this. And you will assemble it: It consists of three parts that you need four hands to assemble. It looks like the aim is to make it somewhat generic for all current Jeep models, but it only succeeds by being disappointing. The single bolt it's designed to attach to is so out of reach that you find yourself hunched over under the dash with one hand trying to unscrew the…

Dead Pedal gives life to left foot

Dead Pedal is a good solution for my JL Wrangler that needs a left foot rest. My right leg is jealous. The package was complete and well packed except for the instructions. The product page photos are all you need for the build and other user reviews make the small adjustments needed to complete it, along with good advice from a select few. I had no problem loosening the screw on the firewall used to attach it. The only tools needed were a 1/2" ratchet socket, a 10mm ratchet socket and a 5mm…
