Seals in water
Because my boat's ignition switch is located on the beveled corner of the center console, it was exposed to rainwater etc. which corroded the switch's internal contacts. WD40 and switch operation would fix it, but the problem would come back. The switch was replaced last year. I bought this trunk nut and the problem is solved!
