Time consuming and expensive

I searched, read reviews and after much deliberation decided on Wolverine Titan. Here's my summary after one use: Pros: - It's self-contained so you can scan anywhere - Size is good (portable) - It's very versatile - accepts many formats of negatives as well as slides Cons: - Power cord is so short - You literally have to have an outlet on the table to use it. I used an extension. - When scanning negatives, you have to exit the photo to change the brightness or color, then return to the photo…

  • I have some doubts

Good system for almost everyone.

There are many slide/negative scanners out there. But if you're not willing to shell out a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for a top-notch system, that's good enough. I have a good high resolution flatbed scanner, but I also have several hundred slides and negatives and I don't want to spend days or weeks digitizing them. I bought mine from Revain Smile for only $115. There was no SD card included, which was good as I already had a lot of them and that helped with the lower price. All…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Not useful for most color slides.

We tried to archive old but valuable color slides with this scanner but were very disappointed. While the scanner performs acceptably in well-balanced daytime scenes with bright sunlight, it distorts color balance and exposure in all other areas (e.g. overcast or cloudy scenes, scenes with a large dynamic range of shadows and highlights). The issue is related to the auto exposure feature and the very limited dynamic range of the scanner, and using the exposure adjustment tools on the scanner…

An incredible way to revive old memories!

Great product! After reading countless reviews, it seems like every converter has its pros and cons, but this one always tops the list. I ended up getting this to convert all my parents old slides from the 1970s to digital and I've gone through eight full carousels at the time of writing and they were given to my parents as a Christmas present. Needless to say, they were shocked and seeing them on TV and computer screens brought back memories. The quality is amazing and more or less depends on…

  • Quick Change

  • Only available in white

Recommended for office electronics

What I like about Wolverine: • Colors are pretty good • Very good film guides • Great preview screen (big and colorful) My approach: 1) Put my negatives in the right order in the posts 2) I wipe Wolverine with a brush (very important) 3) Then I scan the negatives (to a memory card, a memory card is generally required I think) 4) I use Microsoft Photos to crop image files if necessary 5) With Adobe Elements I do some image adjustments (usually just AutoSmartFix) 6) I close all files and on…

Pros
  • Well done
Cons

Not the quality I expected

This is my first review. This may change as questions are answered and problems resolved. I researched several converters to store old negatives. This one got good reviews. I've spent the last few hours converting 110 negatives. It is not easy. The negatives are from the 1980s and are folded. They're also shorter than the plastic tray, so it's difficult to pull them out to see each negative. However, the WORST issue is that the entire screen is covered in smudges that are visible in the photos.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Very quick and easy to use to save family memories.

Update; I've scanned over 4,000 35mm slides and it has worked great for my purposes. Absolutely not, but I think it will be something that most people can use. Easy setup, easy to use. My slides are 50 to 20 years old. While the white balance may be on some high contrast ones like clouds and the like, it's usually an easy fix on the Mac's preview page. Make sure you dust your slides well. I have attached another photo that I scanned without cleaning. .This will be one of the logs on the stone…

Pros
  • Standalone computer or no software required
Cons
  • Concise manual

Good screen and design, but crops 35mm negatives.

I liked the design and the big screen. Scanned quickly too. That's the only reason I give it a 2 and not a 1. When I scanned the slides, some of the images were fine. Others are mottled in dark areas and completely faded in light areas. You can adjust the brightness; but you have to do this for each slide in the menu with many clicks. It will take a long time. My old 5 megapixel scanner did an automatic adjustment, which worked very well, so you don't have to manually adjust brightness or color

Pros
  • Unique fast loading adapters for quick loading of slides and negatives
Cons
  • Some little things

Slides: average. Cons - Good viewer, basic scanner is VERY basic.

Slides (color, 35mm): 1. The scan quality is normal, like "Mediocre". If the slide is well lit in daylight, it will scan well enough to print 3" x 5", maybe 4" x 6". Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. and color fidelity, and details are "fur"2. The 35mm slide holder only fits one slide at a time and is designed for cardboard mats. Slides with plastic frames are too thick. You can force it (I did), but every time you risk breaking the bolt carrier. (Note: You can buy slide holders…
