This gate was perfect. We needed something to keep our small dog from running into the hallway if he was too excited when someone entered the house. It was pretty easy to install, stays in place and looks great; not cheap and plastic. The "wood panels" are a bit odd, but they're a nice addition. I've noticed a lot of people have complained about the gap but the gate warns you in SEVERAL places including a BRIGHT ORANGE TAG FIXED TO THE GATE to tighten the gate before the gap closes. You have to tighten it more than you might if there weren't a gap to fill, but it all works great in the end: the gate stays in place and looks nice, and there's no gap. Just keep tightening until the door works properly.
