This gate was perfect. We needed something to keep our small dog from running into the hallway if he was too excited when someone entered the house. Door is not fully adjustable for all sizes listed. In my 105 year old Dutch Colonial, within the listed size range for this gate, the stairwell is 38 inches wide. But more adjustment options in the gate would be nice. Two additional side frames can be added. In my case none is too small and one is too small and you can't adjust the posts far enough without sacrificing stiffness. And now both parts of the frame are too wide in any position or setting.
