This is exactly what we need to separate foster dogs from the general population until they settle in. I had a few concerns based on the reviews. they were all scattered. Problem 1: The gate is too small. I have the same problem when I assemble it. it really doesn't look like it's going to work. I ignored the huge yellow warning sign on the gate that I mentioned. don't worry about the size of the gate; trust us and continued arguing. but they are right. Once you install it everything works. Problem 2: Cannot be installed due to the base. Because the top and bottom have separate mounting screws, the gate can be easily installed at different depths. This will only fail if your opening is less than 30 inches (not counting the baseboard). Problem 3: look cheap. Someone complained that the center wasn't real wood. I was worried it was plastic or something crappy. . it looks very nice. Problem 4: Cannot handle large, excited dogs. I avoid sealed gates because dogs can knock them over. These gates, when bolted down, have helped so far. But they also come with screw-in receivers. that the pressure cups are on the inside. This adds an extra layer of security. I plan to install them today as the new dog is arriving tomorrow. to move his amplifiers and other music equipment. This forces us to remove and reinstall the gate when we get a new foster child. This design makes it easy to remove the gate if necessary. Problem #5: Durability. It's strong enough for a pack of Labrador crosses. Some gates just can't meet our requirements. This gate has a steep frame - strong, and a bored puppy that is teething cannot gnaw through them. I just ordered 3 more of these goals. I love her 09/24/19: update. The gate was held as the new dog was isolated. So much so that we decided to photograph one of them. And that's where we ran into a problem. Although the instructions clearly state that the gate needs careful alignment, I just looked at it. Then when I tried to remove the gate I had the bear of the time to remove it. I couldn't get the bottom "nests" out of the cup. Advice, don't be intimidated. or do not use the cup/pedestal option
