Our fireplace has a built in console with internal wiring. However, it was too small for our 55" TV. The bay wall is about 31 inches back and trying to find a mount that stretches that far is difficult and scary. We needed something strong enough to support our holding the TV when it was pushed this far without question. After reading the reviews I decided to buy this beast and give it a try (you skin your knuckles). The TV sits firmly on the brackets and comes with additional Hardware secured.Everything was incredibly good.One caveat with extending the bracket and installing the TV: we had to move the leveling piece into the bracket itself as it wasn't level when fully extended.According to our setup, the stud bracket is perfectly level,and when the bracket was pulled out without weight it sat flat, however when we placed the TV on the bracket it was horribly crooked & awkward nd there were so many problems aligning it with the TV. But when we did, everything was perfect! It worked great for our odd house. Build and Cubby console area.
