Review on πŸ’‘ Outback Power VFXR3648A Vented 120V A Model Inverter/Charger: Reliable Power Solutions for Your Electrical Needs by Dale Hing

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The product is fine, there is no support

The main functionality of this inverter is excellent, with good clean output, minimal noise and high efficiency. The physical build is of very good quality. I would give the block itself 3 stars. One of the input connectors was loose on the inside so when I tightened the screw the entire connector turned. Yes, I used a precision torque wrench. The internal voltmeter is terrible. I don't see why they can't just put a decent voltage reference chip on the board, it's not that expensive. But they are cheap and only include an "offset" function to correct their poor calibration. A metal cover that sits directly over the battery input terminals. For real? They include some flimsy plastic caps to cover the ports, but that seems like an afterthought. You MUST use plastic caps as removing or installing the cap without them would be very dangerous. Bad design. The user interface is poor, as is the user manual. I use this for off grid solar panels. As in *only* sunny. Each individual shot is for an alternate entrance to dinosaurs, such as B. a generator or a public power grid. Nowhere is it indicated which setting to use for a PV only configuration. I finally figured it out, but without any help from support. Which brings me to the lack of support. I opened several support cases and received automated replies that their system received my case. No Answer. JE. I have replied to emails, asked them to reply, NOTHING. I went to their support forums and all the users there are condescending bullies who will berate you if you ask a question. Even there, I never received an answer, although I received many insults and sarcastic remarks. I have several Outback devices that I bought all at once. I've spent thousands. BUT THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE: I will never buy another piece of Outback gear or recommend it to anyone. Not because of the hardware - poor UI and minor technical issues I can live with - but because of the lack of support and insults I've received on their official forums (from moderators and staff).
